Metro Tool and Die Limited (MTD)

The Challenge:

This design-build project had to maximize the area of potential plant expansion as efficiently as possible. Additional challenges included limited space on a tight site along with a fixed budget.

The customer recognized that a Pre-Engineered Building was an economically viable option and approached Grassmere on the recommendation of one of our valuable clients.

The Grassmere Solution:

Using the Butler concept, Grassmere was able to self-perform the work and provide a cost effective solution to meet the SB-10 energy conservation requirements of the Ontario Building Code.

We used a combination of highly insulated roof and wall systems, the MR-24® Standing Seam Roof with a R40 Simple Saver System® and eShadowall™ wall cladding with R27 metal building insulation, as well as six SunLite strips, complete with daylighting controls.

The Result:

Despite a tight schedule, this project was completed on time and within budget. The customer was pleased with the results.
